Purchased a Sleep Number Bed about 6 years ago. Initially it was quite comfortable, but within a year, we had to install a "memory foam topper" just to be able to stop the pressure point pains on hip and shoulder areas. It didn't stop there". Unfortunately, in the second year, one of the motors (king size unit) died, but the company replaced it (with a refurbished model) and all went well/. Within the next 6 months, we had to move to a 3 inch memory foam topper?. Without the topper, the bed (even on the lower settings) was hard as a rock and lowering the settings only made it feel like sleeping in a hammock--a very hard hammock;. Today, we're sleeping on this mattress with a 4 inch memory foam topper.. Yes, you guessed it, there are NO sheets in the world that will fit one of these mattresses PLUS another 4 inches on top/. So, once again, we're in the market for a new mattress?. Thinking of Tempur-Pedic, but just not sure.. The Sleep Number, after tax and the fancy mattress pad, was about $3,600 and we're reluctant to now spend $7,000 or more to be upset in a couple of years. 1292617
