I recently purchased a sleep number bed, "special edition"". Only after the bed was installed and I found how unhappy I was with it, that I was informed that the bed, because it was a 'special edition', I could not return it; I must upgrade to another level/. This I did?. The bed improved somewhat, but still I have not gotten a good night's sleep on it (it's been almost seven months);. I specifically bought this bed for my bad back and it has not helped it at all?. In fact, I'm more miserable now than before with my old mattress?.

I would not recommend this bed to anyone;. I'm so sorry I wasted so much money, as these beds are extremely expensive?. I would have done better getting a high end traditional mattress. 129282a

I'm sorry you are not happy with your bed. I bought the most economical model they had in 1999 and wouldn't trade it for anything. I add air in the summer and remove air in the winter, so I can sink in and stay warmer. Mine is not a "Sleep Number", since they didn't have numbers on the controlers back then. I still call it Select Comfort. Sometimes I think my wife married me for my bed. We both love it.

We've had our select number bed for over 10 years.. Took a few weeks to adjust to but we now wouldn't trade it for any other type of bed. Wow can't even imagine why there are so many complainers.. :)

I am truly happy for your success with the Sleep Number bed. For me, also suffering from Degenerative Disc Disease, it has been a disaster. I am not in the position now to purchase anything to replace it, so I must keep the bed.

I believe that I expected too much from the bed and was so disappointed with it. I was just trying to get a better night's sleep in spite of my back problems. It hasn't happened yet. I keep waiting. BTW: I'm supposed to be a 45. Nothing improves at any number.

Due to having 2 degenerative discs I decided to try a sleep number bed in 2002. My partner & I sleep at 35 and 55. Since we bought this bed I have not had a bad nights sleep. We loved it so much we bought a second one 2 years later for our summer home. Any problems we have had the company representatives have been very responsive and always taken care of the problem. Well worth the $$$$ :zzz
